Ghanaian Community in Russia Ignites Vibrant Social Scene, Secures Pageant Victory Under The auspices of Sports and Entertainment Department

Moscow, Russia – The Sports and Entertainment Department of the Ghanaian Community in Russia has spearheaded a dynamic period of cultural celebration and community engagement since 2023, significantly enriching the social fabric for Ghanaians across the Russian Federation. Under the energetic leadership of Kafui Feyi and Japheth Appah, and with the overarching vision of President Ebenezer Wepari's administration, the department has orchestrated a diverse calendar of events, fostering unity and showcasing Ghanaian pride.


"Our goal has been to create vibrant platforms for our community to connect, celebrate our heritage, and truly feel at home here in Russia," stated Kafui Feyi, a key figure in the Sports and Entertainment Department. Japheth Appah added, "Seeing the joy, camaraderie, and national pride these events bring is incredibly rewarding and motivates us to do even more."


Key Achievements of the Sports and Entertainment Department Include:


"Xperience '24" End-of-Year Celebration: Kicking off a series of memorable events, the department successfully organized its highly anticipated End-of-Year (EoY) party, "Xperience '24." This festive gathering brought members together for a joyous celebration, strengthening bonds and fostering a sense of collective belonging as the year drew to a close.

Prominent Participation in "Window to Africa" 2025: Showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Ghana on a broader international stage, the Ghanaian Community actively participated in the prestigious African Culture Festival "Window to Africa" 2025. This event provided an invaluable opportunity to display Ghanaian traditions, music, dance, and cuisine to a diverse audience, enhancing cultural exchange and national pride.

Representation at NUGS-Jospong Independence Day Celebration: Underscoring national pride and unity, representatives from the Ghanaian Community proudly joined the NUGS-Jospong 6th March Independence Day Celebration. This participation reaffirmed the community's strong connection to Ghana's national identity and its diaspora network.

"Apicnic '25" Summer Picnic: Emphasizing camaraderie and outdoor enjoyment, the department successfully organized its popular summer picnic, "Apicnic '25," at the scenic Kuzminki Park. This relaxed and engaging setting allowed members to connect, share meals, and participate in recreational activities, further strengthening social bonds.

Engagement at "Archipelago 2025" Technology Expo: Demonstrating the diverse talents and forward-thinking spirit within its membership, the community also extended its presence into the innovation sphere by actively participating in the "Archipelago 2025" Technology Expo at the Moscow-Skolkovo Innovation Center, highlighting Ghanaian engagement with cutting-edge developments.

Triumphant Win at Miss AfricaRussia 2025: A crowning achievement and source of immense pride for the entire community was the instrumental support provided for contestant No.4, Michelina Stampoulous, in the Miss AfricaRussia 2025 pageant. The department, rallying collective efforts, helped in providing crucial financial votes, talent coordination, and logistical support, culminating in Ms. Stampoulous's triumphant victory. This achievement brought significant recognition and celebration to all Ghanaians in Russia.


President Ebenezer Wepari lauded the department's efforts, stating, "The vibrancy and unity we witness within our community, from grand cultural festivals to social gatherings and even competitive triumphs, are a testament to the tireless work of the Sports and Entertainment Department.
